Jaws, Eddie Murphy and Animal Kingdom
WILT Wednesday: What I'm Listening To - Podcast recommendations
I am looking forward to watching Jaws again at some point this weekend. Monsters, Sharks and Dinosaurs is a wonderful show that takes a look at a weekly monster, shark, or dinosaur and analyzes it as if it were real. (Sharks are real John, but Whitewalkers from Game of Thrones are not) What does it feel like to be attacked by a shark? Could a giant gorilla climb the Empire State Building? What does the Cookie Monster want from us?
Speaking of Jaws, I have it on good authority that next week’s Ghost is inspired by Jaws…
And tomorrow on TV In The Basement, an episode all about Jaws.
Congrats to Jimmy Traina and former host Richard Deitsch for getting this one to 500 episodes. I was attached to this one back when, mostly during Richard’s time as host. Jimmy is natural talent and should actually be the afternoon guy on WFAN doing his combo of sports/TV watching/curmudegon. VERY relatable.
And if I had a magic wand - Richard and Jimmy together would be a powerhouse combo. At least we got them together here.
The Daily doesn’t need my help, but Eddie Murphy doing a long-form is a treat.
Joe Rogan doesn’t need my help either, but Tim Dillon is one of my favorite podcasters. In another life Tim should have been the afternoon guy on WABC New York circa 1997. Tim does wonderful rants (that he doesn’t believe) and is a great talent.
Here’s Tim’s reaction to last week’s debate on his own show.
Ballot is picking up all of a sudden after last week’s debate. Gee, I wonder why. This one is like the good parts of The Daily Show/John Oliver minus the serious parts and the interviews.
My former coworkers at Hacks on Tap had on former coworker David Plouffe to break down the debate, this was a good listen.
Travel Is Back has been covering the Orlando Disney Parks, and gave a shoutout to my favorite park Animal Kingdom and my favorite ride, Dinosaur!
If you follow me there’s a good chance you’re a radio-head. On Saturday, the guest on Daily Comedy News is Alex Bennett for a discussion of comedy not politics.
