Introducing: White Smoke (Podcasting)
The Path To A New Pope
A new series from Caloroga Shark Media.
The challenge of this series is - How do we do something topical, without being distatesful. I think The Creative we did here was able to accomplish that, as we take a look at what happens during a papal transition.
As we head forward, we’ll look at specific papal transitions - the 33 days of Pope John Paul I is a particularly intriguing story that we look forward to exploring.
Hopefully there won’t be a papal transition between the time you are reading this and another 20+ years.
As an aside, the voiceover on this one came out really nice. A friend asked why don’t I mention that it is an AI voice. It’s an AI voice. Sounds pretty good. Welcome to the future!
New York, February 20th, 2025 — Caloroga Shark Media announces "WHITE SMOKE: The Path to a New Pope," a documentary series exploring how the Catholic Church has perfected its sacred traditions of leadership transition over two millennia.
The series examines the carefully preserved ceremonies, protocols, and traditions that have guided papal transitions throughout history. From the solemn duties of the Camerlengo to the careful preparation of the Sistine Chapel for conclave, "WHITE SMOKE" illuminates a process that has remained largely unchanged for centuries while adapting to modern times.
The series will be supplemented with special bonus episodes keeping listeners informed about breaking news events.
"This is a story of how tradition and change coexist in one of the world's oldest institutions," says Caloroga Shark Media Co-founder John McDermott. "Whether it's the ancient ritual of the silver hammer or the chemicals that create the famous smoke signals, each element of papal transition tells us something about how institutions preserve their essential character while evolving with the times."
"WHITE SMOKE: The Path to a New Pope” is available now on all major podcast platforms.
