The Queue Is Winning
So much media, so little time.
There’s a new Paul McCartney album out today! Possibly his last, but I thought that last time as well. If the day goes as planned, that will be #1 in the listening queue on the long walk with the dog.
There is also a new Wille Nelson album out today! Willie, like Sir Paul, has put out albums at a good clip. My mother was a big fan, so I will put ears on this today in the 2-slot out of solidarity.
I need to spend more time with U2’s fantastic Easter Lilly. It works best if you listen to the EP as a piece, in order. There is no time.
I see my podcast queue has gotten back over 200 hours (170 shows / 204h 35m) which is very disappointing since I just did two 8 hour flights and two 4 hour train rides. This weekend I have Family Stuff so there will be no Six Hours In The Yard to whack that down. Very disappointing. Perhaps I need my insomnia to return. 2 to 4am was a good time to whack away at the list.
Or I could just not listen to McCartney and Willie.
At night - it’s video games time. I got in about 90 minutes of James Bond First Light in last night. If you played the recent Star Wars Games (Jedi Something) or the Indiana Jones game - it’s that, but James Bond. I play on Easy because I am there to have fun and don’t need to get stuck on a level for two hours. Good game so far.
Also out is Forza Horizon 6 which is a racing game set in Japan and apparently designed to fill your brains with endorphins caused by bright colors, fun graphics, som pretty good sounding “fake” radio stations and of course ridiculous driving scenarios. Also on easy mode. I just want to drive fast while listening to Fake Japanese Radio.
On TV: Spider-Noir was a lot of fun. Watch it in Black & White like a civilized person. Nicholas Cage doing Cage things…but sort of Spider-Man but also a noir.
