2 billion people visit Youtube daily? You should make a video! (Podcasting)
Some podcast recommendations for your Wednesday
Let’s start with The Ankler since it came out today, and everyone loves discussing video. My ears perked up when YouTube CEO Neal Mohan said“2 billion people” come to YouTube every day. I would share a transcript but it doesn’t seem available on Apple Podcasts for some reason today.
Anyway at around 3:35, Neal says “2 billion people” come to YouTube every day. Super impressive. That’ number suggests all 335,000,000 (ish) people in the US (the purple people in teh map above)- including your grandma and your baby - and another 1,600,000,000(ish) world wide. Plus I believe YT is not allowed in China so that’s 1.4B off the table which would mean 1 in 3 people(ish) worldwide outside of China “come to Youtube” every day. A truly remarkable number.
You should make a video podcast and reach those 1,600,000,000 international consumers! Discovery!
I don’t have any big Podcasting Proclamations to declare this week, but you can still get your fill of me because I’m the guest on this one, and we discussed video. (Note, recorded a few months ago but came out today.) Thanks for having me on!
And one more podcast about podcasting.
Did you hear there’s a war between Israel and Iran? Mark Francis did, and it was raining, so he knocked this one out!
This is a great trailer.
Tom Segura dissecting comedy on Huberman Lab was good.
Did I do these next three already? I think not but if I did, hey they are solid recomendations (I had them saved in a Draft Post and can’t remember if I turned them loose.)
This was originally a McCartney podcast, which is now a Solo Beatles podcast - but I am only up to the McCartney episodes which I am loving. All My Loving one might say. I’m only 9 years late on this one. Let’s give them a slew of back catalog downloads to confound them.
I very much enjoyed Who Broke The Internet?
Ron Moore is the genius behind the Galactica Reboot, and is the man who SHOULD be handed the keys to Star Trek to save that disaster. He was on with Katee Sackhoff. I met Katie once at Sirius, and she was super cool.
Lazy Video Podcasts doing better than Trying Video Podcasts?
Things seem quiet in Podcasting Land this week unless you want to argue about Video again. Over the weekend I got annoyed with my Youtube views for Daily Comedy News, so I went back to Headliner Cover Art videos and the numbers went UP. More views and hours back in my life? Awesome.
